Do you have a Linux server? Is it performing as well as you'd like now? Do you want to know if it will scale as your workload grows? Do you want to know where the bottleneck is?
As you probably know, I am attending Open Source Bridge. As a performance engineer and capacity planner, I'd like to highlight some of the performance-related sessions.
I've created a new project on GitHub for my code that profiles Ruby interpreters. And there will be a hacking session on / with it at Open Source Bridge. If you'd like to join in, you'll need to get an account on GitHub and know Git. You don't need to wait until Open Source Bridge to join in the fun, though ... just send me a GitHub message and I'll add you to the project.

You can now sign up for slots in the 24-hour Hacker Lounge at Open Source Bridge! This is a beautiful space, with a view of Portland.

See you there!
linuxcapacityplanning.com is dedicated to helping Linux users measure, manage and plan performance and capacity of Linux systems. Our focus is on open source tools. While there are some really great commercial products available, Linux is an open source project, and most of the software people run on Linux comes from open source projects as well. Why should capacity planning be any different?
